Industrial Ducts
Custom rectangular and round ductwork for kiln exhausts, baghouse connections, and process gas systems. Sized for optimal velocity to minimize pressure loss and erosion.
Industrial Ducts
Custom fabricated ductwork connecting kilns, dryers, cyclones, baghouses, and fans into complete gas handling systems. Sized for optimal transport velocity — 15–20 m/s for abrasive dust, 10–12 m/s for light fume.
Rectangular — Space-efficient routing through congested plant areas. Flat sides allow easy mounting of access doors, instrumentation ports, and branch connections. Stiffened with external angle iron to prevent flexing under negative pressure.
Round — Lower pressure drop per metre of run. Superior flow distribution with no corner turbulence. Preferred for long straight runs and high-velocity abrasive dust transport where erosion is a concern.
Sizing & Pressure Loss
Duct sizing balances transport velocity against pressure loss. Too slow: material settles and blocks the duct. Too fast: accelerated erosion and excessive fan power consumption.
Pressure loss calculations account for straight runs, bends, transitions, branches, and entry/exit losses. Total system resistance determines fan selection and motor sizing.
Transitions & Fittings
- Reducers/expanders with maximum 15° included angle to prevent flow separation
- 90° bends with turning vanes or large radius (1.5D minimum) to reduce pressure loss
- Branch connections with 30–45° entry angle for smooth flow merging
- Expansion joints at equipment connections to absorb thermal growth and vibration
Wear Protection
Abrasive dust systems require wear protection at impact zones:
- Thicker wall sections at bends (outer radius)
- Replaceable wear plates at direction changes
- Ceramic tile lining for extreme abrasion
- Sacrificial test coupons for monitoring wear rate
Accessories
- Blast gates and dampers for flow control
- Access doors for internal inspection and cleaning
- Instrumentation ports for temperature, pressure, and velocity measurement
- Support brackets and hangers designed for the specific routing
