Rotary Dryers

Co-current and counter-current rotary dryers for moisture removal from minerals, chemicals and thermal products. Custom-designed for feedstock type and throughput requirements.

Rotary Dryers — technical schematic

Rotary Dryers

Continuous moisture removal for powders, minerals, and clay products. Temperature range 50–350°C with precise moisture control and integrated dust collection.

Co-Current — Hot gas and material travel in the same direction. Rapid initial drying with lower exit temperatures — preferred for heat-sensitive materials where over-drying causes degradation.

Counter-Current — Hot gas flows opposite to material. Higher thermal efficiency and lower residual moisture — preferred for minerals and aggregates where final dryness is critical.

Internal Flight Design

Lifting flights inside the drum cascade material through the hot gas stream. Flight profile determines drying rate and residence time:

  • Straight flights for coarse, free-flowing materials
  • Angled flights for fine powders requiring longer air contact
  • Combination profiles for materials with wide particle size distribution

Flight count, angle, and length are calculated from material bulk density and target moisture curve.

Control & Monitoring

  • RTD temperature sensors at multiple drum positions
  • Mass flow metering on hot air inlet
  • Optional moisture analyzer on product exit
  • Data logging for batch documentation and process validation
  • Emergency shutdown on temperature exceedance

Commissioning

  • Foundation verification and structural steel leveling
  • Bearing alignment check and gas flow calibration
  • Temperature profiling with test run on representative feedstock
  • 20–30 hour data collection to establish steady-state drying curve
  • Operator training on set-point adjustments and maintenance schedules

All equipment is factory pressure-tested before shipment.
